Lightra Rookshadow writes contracts on scraps of sailcloth, then burns the originals in a brazier that reeks of clove and rot. A halfling with a soot-smudged face and a coal-black braid, she keeps her pact sigil under a fingerless glove and taps it twice before bargaining. When she laughs, she does it through clenched teeth. Last winter she “saved” a caravan by selling the captains’ route to raiders.
