Human characters

Human is the biggest section here by a distance, and the hardest to make interesting. No horns, no fur, no glow, so whatever lands on the page has to come from the clothes and the face. What saves them is usually one detail: a burglar who keeps his gloves spotless after every job, a sorcerer in a weather-stained coat who looks like she has been walking for a week.
