Glaze

Glaze

Illusionist Wizard, Warforged, Wizard, Neutral

Description

Glaze stands an imposing 6'2" tall, his form crafted from a blend of burnished metal and large stained glass panels, the latter resembling those found in the cathedral where his longtime friend Fosa Dilewis serves. His face is a single, smooth pane of stained glass, devoid of eyes, nose, or mouth—an ever-shifting mosaic of colors and light. With every step, the light catches and dances within the panes, casting shifting hues on nearby surfaces. He wears a flowing cloak of red and gold, its fabric rich but left open to reveal his glass face in full, a signature defiance of concealment.

Backstory

Glaze was forged as part of an experimental series of Warforged designed to incorporate arcane artistry. The project aimed to blend craftsmanship with arcane power, binding glass with metal and infusing light itself. His form was inspired by the famous stained glass windows of the Fosa Dilewis cathedral, where he later formed a close bond with the cleric Fosa Dilewis. His fascination with illusions grew after witnessing the interplay of light and glass within the cathedral, leading him to study the School of Illusion deeply. A secret he guards closely is that the mystical light that flows through his panels is rumored to come from a fragment of a long-lost celestial artifact embedded in his core.

Personality

Glaze speaks with a calm, deliberate tone, his voice resonating with a slight hum, as if light itself vibrates through him. When thinking, he tilts his head, causing the stained glass on his face to shimmer and refract in unusual patterns. He delights in puzzles, riddles, and visual tricks, often communicating his thoughts through shifting patterns of light on his face or through illusions that playfully dance around him. Despite his ethereal appearance, he's grounded and loyal, especially to friends like Fosa.
