Gloamwake

This narrow saber has a blue-black blade that catches light along one flawless edge, while its silver guard curls like a breaking wave. A smoky crystal rests in the pommel, warm against the palm and faintly luminous whenever the weapon is drawn. Its sharkskin grip is worn smooth where a desperate hand once held it for days.

Captain Ilyra Voss carried Gloamwake during the evacuation of Bellharbor, holding the western gate alone until the last child had crossed the burning bridge. When dawn came, she was gone, but the saber remained planted in the gatehouse floor, its edge bright and untouched by ash.

Gloamwake sheds a dim blue radiance in darkness and grows warmer when danger approaches from outside its wielder’s sight. When it strikes a creature that has willingly broken a sworn promise, the blade rings like a struck bell and leaves a pale mark that fades only when the vow is mended.
