Emberwake
Weapon, Uncommon
Description
This narrow saber is forged from blue-black steel, its edge catching light like a coal beneath ash. Copper filigree runs along the fuller in curling lines, and the ray-skin grip has grown smooth where countless palms have held it. The blade carries a faint warmth, strongest near the point.
Lore
Emberwake was carried by Captain Sella Vey during the burning of Greyharbor, when she cut through a warehouse wall to rescue trapped dockworkers. She left the saber behind in the ashes, but it was found upright in the cinders, still hot enough to brand the hand that pulled it free.
Properties
The saber sheds a dim ruddy glow when drawn in darkness, and its warmth can kindle dry tinder with a careful touch. When it strikes wood, cloth, or other flammable material, a brief spark leaps from the edge, as though the blade remembers the fires of Greyharbor.
