Deliverance
Weapon, Artifact, Requires Attunement
Tales say Deliverance turned the tide of the War of Seven Banners, when Edissia’s last army faced a host of battle-mages from the hostile kingdom of Veyr. Carried into the breach beside the Order of the Bastion, the weapon was said to break every spell that struck its bearer: fire guttered into sparks, bindings slipped loose, and walls of force cracked like thin ice. By dusk, the enemy’s magic had become practically useless, leaving the Bastion knights to advance through the ruin and drive the invaders from Edissian soil. Whether Deliverance truly silenced an army’s sorcery or the tale has grown with every retelling, no account denies that the mages fled when the weapon appeared.
Deliverance is a gunblade reforged from the rusted remains of the weapon that once ended a king’s war. Its dark steel blade bears a polished row of Metal Roses, each petal folded by hand and tipped with a thread of silver. The weapon enters battle with a low, furnace-like hum, its edge brightening whenever blood touches the metal. Wounds dealt to its wielder draw closed over the course of a few breaths, leaving only warm, unbroken skin. Spells hurled as bolts, rays, or other projectiles vanish into the gunblade’s chambers without heat or sound, their power held behind the engraved muzzle. At the wielder’s command, Deliverance fires that stolen magic back along its original path, seeking the caster who launched it. Every shot makes the roses ring like tiny bells.
