Feylira Xinthar
Tiefling, Druid, Neutral Good
Description
Feylira Xinthar’s skin is a deep ember red, smooth and faintly warm to the touch. Soft, curling black horns sweep back from her temples, smaller than most, framing a face brightened by golden, ember-like eyes that flicker with gentle light. Her long, dark hair falls in loose waves, threaded with strands of copper and burnt sienna, recalling flickering flames. She wears practical wilderness attire: a slim, sleeveless top cropped at the stomach, paired with loose, earthy-toned pants. Her arms and feet are wrapped in faded cloth bindings—functional for travel and ritual, but not heavy or restrictive. She’s not one for shoes, preferring the feel of earth beneath her bare feet. Subtle flame motifs are embroidered along the hems of her clothes. Always at her side is a wooden staff topped with a charred phoenix feather, a symbol of fire’s rebirth.
Backstory
Born to a small, tight-knit Tiefling community on the border of a vast forest, Feylira always felt the duality of her heritage deeply. As a child, she was fascinated by the forest's cycles, especially how wildfires could clear the old to make way for new growth. Despite whispers about her fiery birthright meaning destruction, she sought to understand fire’s gentler side. Her training as a Circle of Wildfire Druid taught her to wield flame as both protector and creator, using it to heal scars in the land and heart alike. Over time, Feylira became a cherished guardian of the woods and a healer to nearby villages, known for her warmth in spirit as much as her elemental power.
Personality
Feylira speaks softly but with clear conviction, often turning to vivid stories about fire’s role in renewal when comforting others. She has a habit of cradling her hands near her heart, as if sharing warmth, and often tilts her head with a small, knowing smile when someone doubts her gentle nature. She listens deeply, giving space and patience, and carries a habit of humming quiet melodies that mimic the crackling of fire when she’s thinking. Her laughter is rare but bright, like a sudden flame in the night.
Flaws
Feylira’s empathy runs deep, sometimes blurring boundaries—she struggles to say no, even when others take more than they give. Her idealism can make her blind to the harsher realities of the world, which sometimes leads to dangerous risks taken in the name of healing or renewal. When confronted with actual destruction she did not intend, guilt weighs heavily on her, and she can withdraw into silence, afraid to face the consequences of fire gone wrong.
Motivations
Feylira’s deepest drive is to teach others that fire need not be feared as destruction alone. She wants to protect and nurture the cycles of life and death in nature, healing wounds old and new. Though she seeks harmony, she is ready to summon wildfire’s fierce power when threatened—and to light new paths forward. Ultimately, she hopes to build a community bound by warmth and trust, where fear of fire and the unknown gives way to acceptance and renewal.
