Character

The Air Genasi Princess

Air Genasi, Sorcerer, Neutral Good

Description

An Air Genasi princess dressed in flowing royal silks and silver jewelry, with pale blue skin, white hair drifting as if caught in a constant breeze, and eyes that flash like summer lightning. She carries a ceremonial staff crowned with a crystal wind-catcher and wears the signet of her house. Her clothing is fit for a royal festival but practical enough for travel, with sheer veils and ribbons that flutter around her without wind. Faint sparks dance across her fingertips when her emotions rise.

Backstory

Born beneath the open sky in the palace of a wind-bound kingdom, the princess was raised among silk banners, brass bells, and tutors who measured every word she spoke. Her sorcery first appeared during a summer audience, when fear sent a burst of wind through the throne room and shattered every glass in the royal gallery. Since then, court mages have taught her to shape the storm in her blood, while her family has taught her to hide it behind a calm smile. She travels to the festival honoring Xander, the god revered by her people, hoping to offer the royal blessing in person. She also hopes the crowds will give her one day free from ceremony—and a chance to learn why her dreams have begun filling with thunder.

Personality

She greets servants, nobles, and street performers with the same careful courtesy, then remembers each person's name. When forced to choose between protocol and a frightened stranger, she steps toward the stranger before her guards can stop her. She collects festival ribbons and ties them to her staff, claiming each one marks a promise. In private, she removes her crown, climbs to the highest roof available, and speaks her thoughts aloud to the wind.

Flaws

She assumes every problem can be solved by giving a clear order, even when no one has agreed to follow her. Fear of disappointing her family makes her conceal mistakes until they become dangerous. She bristles at anyone who treats her as helpless, sometimes answering a mild insult with a reckless display of magic.

Motivations

She wants to honor Xander sincerely rather than perform devotion for the court. She seeks the source of the thunder-filled dreams that began before the festival and fears they may signal danger to her kingdom. Beneath both goals lies a quieter wish: to discover whether she can become a ruler who protects people because she knows them, not because a crown commands it.
