Tormir Fenhallow

Tormir Fenhallow

Halfling, Ranger, Neutral Good

Description

Tormir stands just 3 feet tall, his frame light and quick. Tousled hair, the color of autumn leaves, contrasts with his freckled cheeks. His round ears, more human than halfling, shift slightly beneath his tousled locks. He wears a muted green tunic over weathered leather armor, brown leather gloves and bracers worn from travel. A well-used sword hangs at his side, and multiple pouches dangle from a sturdy belt, carrying the tools and trinkets of a seasoned ranger. His stance in the tavern is relaxed, a confident grin lighting his face.

Backstory

Tormir grew up in a small halfling village nestled on the edge of a vast forest. As a boy, he delighted in tracking animals and learning the secrets of the woods from his grandfather, a retired ranger. When a band of marauders threatened his home, Tormir’s quick thinking and knowledge of the forest helped defend the village. That day sealed his path as a ranger, traveling distant lands to protect the innocent and uncover forgotten wild places. The tavern where he now grins warmly once offered refuge during a storm that nearly caught him unprepared, forging bonds that led him from home to adventure.

Personality

Tormir greets strangers with a quick smile and easy laughter, putting others at ease. He talks with a steady, confident tone but often interrupts with impromptu jokes or stories. When thinking, he taps a finger against a pouch on his belt, a habit from years of fidgeting during quiet watches. Nobody in a tavern misses his grin — a signal that he’s ready for either a friendly chat or a sudden adventure.

Flaws

Tormir’s confidence sometimes borders on recklessness, pushing into danger before fully assessing the risks. His curiosity can lead him into trouble, especially when secrets or rare creatures are involved. Loyal to a fault, he struggles to walk away from debts or favors, even when it puts him at a disadvantage.

Motivations

Tormir seeks to protect the wild places and the communities that depend on them. He chases stories of forgotten glades and ancient creatures, driven by a restless urge to discover and defend. Above all, he wants to prove that even the smallest among us can shape the fate of the world through courage and cleverness.
