Lysindel Araphion

Tall and elegant, Lysindel has very pale skin, extremely long ears that droop past her shoulders, and flowing silver hair that drifts as though caught in a constant breeze. Animated facial runes move across her features, shifting with her magic and mood. She hovers about a foot above the ground instead of walking, her robes and hair trailing weightlessly beneath her.

Lysindel was born during a storm that tore the roofs from half her village, and the first runes appeared across her face before she could speak. A traveling arcanist taught her to read their shifting patterns, but not to control the magic behind them. After an uncontrolled spell lifted an entire market stall into the sky, Lysindel left home to study the force moving through her blood—and to learn why her runes sometimes write messages she cannot read.

Lysindel speaks softly, forcing others to lean closer when they want her attention. She watches every room for shifts in air and mood, and taps the runes on her cheek when thinking. She offers help without being asked, but refuses to touch a locked door until she has listened to what lies beyond it.
