Haelee

Description

Haelee is a small, brownish asteroid-like Monster with dark brown craters. Its face features two teal eyes and a small mouth typically held in a smirk. It stands on two slender legs that has a gradient from red to yellow. It has a long comet-like tail made out of yellow and orange flames.

Don't make a wish if you see a funny-looking shooting star because that might be a Haelee. Haelees like to make everything a competition and they like to brag about how fast they are. They are often framed for their "epic pranks", but ask the other Monsters and they'll tell you that Haelee pranks are anything but epic. Haelees makes surprisingly good adventuring partners since their natural curiousity takes them everywhere. Just don't make one too excited, or risk burning everything with that tail.

• Fun fact: Despite what they claim, there are no recorded instances of a Haelee flying at the speed of light.

• Haelee's name is a corruption of "Halley's comet".

Haelee is a poor solo combatant, with little staying power, modest damage, and few ways to defend itself once cornered. It relies on allies to create openings. In a group, Haelee races past the front line to harry isolated targets, then retreats behind sturdier creatures before enemies can retaliate. Allies that block pursuit or hold foes in place let Haelee use its flaming tail without being surrounded. Several Haelees take turns making hit-and-run attacks, each racing in from a different direction while the others draw attention or cut off escape routes. They loudly call out challenges, baiting enemies into chasing them across hazards or away from their allies. If an ally falls, Haelee abandons the fight unless escape is impossible.
