Seraphglass Greatwing
Weapon, Very Rare, Requires Attunement
Description
A long, wing-swept blade of pale, mirror-bright steel tapers to a razor edge, its fuller carved like a feathered vane. Along the grip, a thin band of silver filigree cradles a faceted gem that catches torchlight and turns it into a steady aurora glow. When drawn, the weapon feels subtly lighter than its shape suggests, as if the air itself makes room for it.
Lore
The blade was forged for Elowen Varr, a sky-wardens’ duelist who kept airships from falling during the Glassfall Riots. Witnesses swore she never struck with brute force; instead, she cut the moment an arrow arrived, stepping aside as frost-mist curled around the haft. The last riot-ship that survived carried a cargo manifest marked only with the initials “S.G.”—the same mark etched into the gem’s inner facets.
Properties
When the weapon is first lifted in hand, a soft, luminous haze unfurls from the edge like drifting wings and then tightens into a clean, controlled line. While you keep moving, the blade leaves brief, faint light-scars in the air that guide your next strike, helping your attacks look inevitable rather than frantic. If you take harm in the same turn, the gem’s glow flares and releases a momentary bloom of protective mist before dimming back to a watchful gleam.
