Kari Glacier-Cracker

A towering, muscular woman stands before you, her seven-foot-two frame casting a long shadow across the snow. Her skin is the pale color of glacier ice, crisscrossed by natural, slate-gray stone patterns across her shoulders. Her ash-colored hair is pulled back into tight warrior braids, and her intense, dark eyes look you over with absolute calm. You notice a sharp, black feather quill tattooed over the back of her right hand, but despite her massive build, she carries herself with the precise, methodical posture of a practiced academic.

Born into the conquered giantkin labor class of the Iskalic Empire, Kari’s early life was defined by heavy stone and bitter cold. Her fate shifted forever when a sudden, freak blizzard manifested around her during an imperial inspection—a raw, instinctual burst of Storm Sorcery that she couldn't control. Under imperial law, un-registered sorcerers are outlaws to be executed on sight, but a passing scout from the Raven Court saw a useful tool in the young giantkin. She was brought to the capital, branded with the registry tattoo, and put to work in the endless archives.

To the Empire, Kari "Glacier-Cracker" became a success story: a quiet, compliant Modest clerk parsing ancient texts. But the archives hold secrets the Emperor wanted buried. While cataloging texts, Kari discovered hidden accounts of the Empire’s atrocities against her own people, alongside forbidden, heavily redacted notes regarding the nearby cataclysm of Roshaven.

Realizing that knowledge is the ultimate weapon against tyranny, Kari began using her status to subtly falsify registry records, misdirect guard patrols, and smuggle restricted intelligence out of the library. Now stationed in the frontline village of Dagsher under the watchful eye of Hersir Braig, Kari plays the part of the harmless, clumsy academic. In reality, she is a dangerous mole, using her legal immunity to walk the streets freely while serving as the secret eyes and ears of the White Spider resistance.
