Lynn Volander

Half-Elf, Paladin, Lawful Neutral

Description

She has short, unruly brown hair and a petite, yet curvy, frame. Her eyes are a warm brown

Backstory

Lynn Volander was born beneath a cedar grove that hummed with unseen music, the child of a wandering nymph and a mortal hunter — thus she is a Half-Elf, though in the tongue of her people that lineage is called the blood of Pan, and mortals whisper that she is a demigod. From her mother she inherited a laugh that could command owls to settle on shoulders; from her father, a steadiness and a hunter's eye. By adolescence she had been chosen by Artemis herself, her path consecrated to the hunt and to the protection of wild places. Though sworn as a paladin, Lynn's blade and oaths are flavored by pastoral rites: she can scent deceit like a predator scents fear, and her vows include not only justice but the safeguarding of groves, shepherds, and the rites of the wild. Her dual nature — half of the revelry and mischief of Pan and half of the austere devotion to Artemis — makes her both merciful and merciless, a protector who understands the savage joy of a hunted stag and the sorrow of its fall.

Now Lynn travels with a ragged band of human companions: a bard whose songs can soothe a city's fever or set a crowd to riot, a warlock bound to Kronos whose murmured bargains twist the flow of hours, and a disfigured rogue whose smile hides a ruinous past. Together they move between marble temples and olive-scented hamlets, unmasking cults that would rend the balance between civilization and the wild. Lynn's oath compels her to argue with the warlock about fate and to keep the rogue from private vengeance, while she trusts the bard to remember the faces of the lost. Though the gods of Olympus notice her as a child of Pan and Artemis both, she walks her own line: a paladin sworn to hunt corruption where it crawls, to lead lost flocks home, and to remind men who forget that even gods can be playful and cruel in equal measure.

Personality

She acts as a voice of reason in her party of adventurers.
