Unnamed Dwarf Cleric
Dwarf, Cleric, Lawful Good
Description
A male dwarf with a full, carefully groomed beard and dark red hair. He wears chain mail beneath common clerical vestments and carries a warhammer. His shield bears the holy symbol of the Life domain, polished bright enough to catch the light during prayer and battle.
Backstory
Before becoming devoted to the dwarven deities, he worked as a journeyman jeweler and gem cutter. His guild badge and reputation travel with him beyond his home, opening doors among a loose coalition of guilds. He seeks to become a master artisan, treating every cut stone and finished setting as an act of worship.
He belongs to the Lords’ Alliance, a coalition of established powers dedicated to mutual security and prosperity. Fellow guild members can provide necessities, introductions, and shelter in guildhalls, while the guild may spend its political influence on his behalf. He pays five gold pieces in monthly dues and must settle any missed payments to remain in good standing.
Personality
He examines every piece of work beneath a jeweler’s loupe, even when no one else can see the flaw he has found. He demands the same care from companions that he demands from himself, and his corrections grow sharper when he is tired. In conversation, he often compares people and institutions to stonework: weak foundations must be repaired before the walls can rise.
Flaws
He is greedy with coin and slow to spend it, even when generosity would serve the group better. He haggles over nearly every price, presses merchants for the smallest possible advantage, and keeps a private account of debts and favors. A poor bargain can sour his mood for an entire day.
Motivations
He aims to prove himself the greatest artisan of his age, not through praise but through work no rival can fault. He believes civilized people must strengthen their communities and guard the security that lets ordinary lives flourish. Every repaired wound, settled dispute, and perfectly cut gem serves that larger duty.
