Tempest Cleric

A blonde human heroine in chain mail armor, carrying a longsword and shield. Wind pulls through her hair, and a tempest seems to churn in her eyes. She wears a holy amulet of the Tempest against her chest and stands with the fixed resolve of someone who has faced hard seas and worse storms.

Her youth was spent on the high seas as a crewmember aboard a ship of cutthroats. At first, her prayers to the gods of wrath were simple rituals meant to ward off harsh weather. Years of thunder, black waves, and ships lost beyond the horizon deepened those prayers into devotion. She now serves the Tempest with sword, shield, and storm-worn conviction.

She is a member of the Zhentarim, an unscrupulous organization that seeks economic and political control through legitimate dealings and criminal schemes alike. Her reputation follows her into every civilized settlement; people fear her enough to overlook minor offenses. She still measures loyalty by the ship’s rule: crewmates and captains come and go, but the vessel endures.

She likes a job done properly, especially when she can persuade someone else to do the hard part. She treats bad weather as a conversation with her god, watching cloudbanks and tide lines before she makes a decision. In port, she speaks with the calm authority of a captain and keeps one hand near her holy amulet when tempers rise.

Once someone questions her courage, she cannot retreat without proving them wrong. She has challenged stronger foes, sailed into dangerous waters, and accepted reckless bargains rather than let a doubt go unanswered. Her reputation makes minor crimes easy to excuse, and she has grown too accustomed to treating that fear as permission.

The sea is freedom—the freedom to go anywhere and do anything. She serves the Tempest to preserve that freedom, to punish those who would chain sailors, and to prove that no harbor master, noble, or crime lord owns the horizon. The Zhentarim offers influence and safe passage, but she intends to remain the one person aboard who cannot be bought.
