Myriven Xelthara

Myriven Xelthara

Eladrin, Rogue

Description

Myriven Xelthara has lithe, angular limbs covered in smooth, silvery-ivory skin that subtly shifts color with her movements. Her almond-shaped eyes are a vivid emerald green, framed by high cheekbones and sharp brows. She sports long, flowing hair the color of midnight, streaked with strands of shimmering gold. A small, ornate dagger, carved with swirling runes, is sheathed at her side.

Backstory

Myriven was born beneath canopies of living starlight in a court that prized beauty as proof of power. Her earliest lessons were etiquette and deception: how to tilt a smile, how to make a whispered lie sound like a vow, how to move so air itself would fail to notice her passage. The eladrin court taught her to be artful with both blade and word; she learned that a secret could be sharper than any steel and far more dangerous to hold.

Her only inheritance was a small dagger, its ivory hilt carved with swirling runes. The elders called it a remembrance, but to Myriven it was the echo of a promise—something ancient and personal, its runes faintly warm against her palm whenever she was near truth. As she grew, she became the court’s shadow: slipping into private chambers to leer at forbidden treaties, untangling lovers’ conspiracies, and returning with other people’s sins tucked neatly away. She collected secrets the way some collect jewels, cataloguing them like a private map of others’ weaknesses.

Everything changed at a masked revel. A key sigil—an enchanted token that bound the season of the court—was stolen, and Myriven’s cleverness became evidence of guilt. Whether by set-up or misstep, she was blamed. The elders who had taught her the art of subtlety turned it on her; the runes on her dagger flared and whispered only fragments of memory. Branded a thief and a traitor, she fled the Feywild with nothing but the dagger and an ache for the face of the one she could not remember fully. The court sealed the season away, and the halls that once sang for her fell silent.
