Casper Anvilguard

A dwarf noble paladin of Tempus wearing battle-worn chain mail. He carries a longsword and shield, with six throwing javelins secured for quick access. His gear is well maintained but bears the dents and scratches of repeated campaigns; his noble bearing shows in his disciplined posture and carefully kept heraldic details.

Born to House Anvilguard, Casper was raised among stone halls where noble heirs learned to settle disputes with contracts, witnesses, and steel. He chose the last of those lessons. Tempus answered his devotion with a life of campaigns, and Casper came to believe that honor is proven only when an oath costs blood, comfort, or rank. He now carries his family name into battle as both shield and challenge, seeking worthy foes and refusing to let privilege excuse cowardice.

Casper stands when others sit and removes his gloves before any serious conversation. He addresses servants, soldiers, and nobles with the same formal courtesy, then remembers every slight. Before battle he checks each javelin in silence; after battle he records the names of the fallen in a small iron-bound ledger. He speaks plainly, favors old military sayings, and treats a fair challenge as a social invitation.

Casper confuses compromise with surrender when his honor is questioned. He will accept an unfavorable duel rather than admit fear, and he keeps promises made in anger long after wiser people have forgotten them. House Anvilguard taught him to distrust debtors and common criminals, so he can mistake poverty for poor character until hardship forces him to look closer.

Casper wants to make House Anvilguard respected for service rather than inherited wealth. He seeks battles where courage can be measured without courtly excuses, protects those who stand their ground beside him, and sends a portion of every reward home to fund armor and training for the family's retainers. Above all, he wants Tempus to judge that he never hid behind his title.
