Zyphira Moonwhisper
Character

Zyphira Moonwhisper

Owlin, Bard, Neutral Good

Description

Zyphira stands just under four feet tall, her tawny feathers speckled with russet and cream. Her large, round amber eyes gleam beneath a delicate, heart-shaped facial disc framed by soft feathers. Broad wings extend from her slender arms, padded with darker plumage along the edges. She wears a patchwork leather jerkin over a faded green tunic, with a thin scarf wrapped loosely around her neck. A well-used lute is slung across her back, its wood scratched and dulled from long travels. Tiny talons peek from fingerless gloves that have frayed at the edges.

Backstory

Born amidst dense woodland where twilight lingered long, Zyphira grew up among a tight-knit community of scholars and storytellers. Her early fascination with melody and tale turned to purpose after a devastating fire swept through her home, leaving many without voice or memory. Seeking to preserve her people’s fading lore and soothe their pain, she trained as a bard, weaving sorrow and hope into her songs. Since then, she has wandered through towns and wilds alike, guided by a quiet determination to spread small lights in dark places.

Personality

Quietly observant, Zyphira often tilts her head as she listens, tapping one talon rhythmically when idle. She prefers soft-spoken counsel and subtle humour over loud boasts, gaining trust without demanding it. Though she offers songs and stories freely, she guards her own feelings with a cautious warmth. She hates conflict but won’t ignore injustice, striving to ease suffering when she can without drawing attention. A persistent fear of failing those who depend on her makes her slow to share her own burdens.
