Marrowlight

This slender saber is forged from pale steel veined with warm gold, its hooked guard shaped like a branching rib. A soft amber glow gathers along the edge when the blade is drawn, revealing fine nicks beneath the polish and a grip wrapped in faded blue silk.

Marrowlight was carried by Sir Caldris Venn during the Siege of Bellweather, where he held the west gate after the watch captain fled. At dawn, his soldiers found him standing among the fallen with the saber still bright in his hand, though Caldris himself had vanished without a trace.

The blade sheds a gentle radiance when danger draws near, brightening in the presence of concealed weapons or hostile intent. Its edge passes cleanly through mundane armor and resists stains, rust, and every attempt to dull it. When its wielder stands between danger and someone under their protection, the saber seems to pull toward the nearest threat.
