Tharok

Tharok

Goliath, Barbarian, Chaotic Neutral

Description

Tharok stands over seven feet tall, his skin like chiseled granite etched with veins of darker stone. His axes are nearly extensions of his arms, rough-hewn and heavy, balanced for dual wielding. His broad shoulders carry scars deep and shallow, souvenirs from clashes with mountain beasts and rival clans. His dark eyes burn with a quiet storm of fury and resolve. Worn furs and leather straps bind his forearms, stained with dirt and dried blood.

Backstory

Born in a nomadic mountain tribe, Tharok was raised to respect strength and endurance above all. His rites of passage were brutal, each marking his rise in the tribe—until a rival clan ambushed his people, forcing him to flee into the unforgiving peaks. Alone and hunted, he learned to channel his fury to survive. Now, he roams wild lands, guided by instinct, seeking to carve his own legend with axes in hand.

Personality

Tharok speaks little, his words clipped and direct like mountain winds. He tests friends with gruff honesty and challenges foes with unyielding brutality. In battle, he moves with reckless abandon, but away from it, he respects those who prove worthy by action, not words. When thinking, he taps his axes together quietly, a ritual to center his raging spirit before the storm.

Flaws

Tharok's temper, once unleashed, is a tempest not easily quelled. His pride in his strength can blind him to cunning or subtlety, underestimating foes who rely on guile. His distrust of strangers makes alliances slow to form, and his past betrayals make him reluctant to seek help even when badly wounded.

Motivations

Tharok seeks to prove his worth beyond the mountain tribe that cast him out, forging a name that will echo through valleys and stone halls. His dual axes are symbols of his defiance against a world that tried to break him. He hunts strength and glory, but also a place where his fierce nature might belong—somewhere wild enough to match his spirit.
